A SAMPLE INTERATIVE STORY

-A real excerpt from an Interactive Sherlock Holmes mystery-

THE MYSTERY OF THE MISSING BIRTHDAY PRESENT

Player's character name: John Watson

Narrator:

After meeting Mycroft in town, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson come home to Baker street to find the door slightly ajar.

Do they go in?

Watson:

Of course they go in! Danger is their middle name!

Sherlock:

It appears we've had a visitor, Watson. Mrs Hudson won't be happy about the mess.

Narrator:

You've seen the kitchen. Now solve the riddle to go upstairs.

All in armour,

Never chinking.

Never breathing,

Ever drinking.

...What am I?

Watson:

A fish?

Narrator:

Correct!

Watson:

Where is Mrs Hudson by the way? I hope she is okay?

Sherlock:

What? Oh, I have no idea. Doesn't she usually go shopping today?

The case, Watson. The case!

Watson:

Sherlock, there is some kind of note under the table.

Narrator:

Solve the riddle to see what the note says

Watson:

Forte, G-Cleft, Flat, Sharp

Narrator:

Not quite on number 2&3 but forte, flat and sharp are right

Watson:

I am consulting your homeless team Sherlock but they are taking their time getting back to me!!

Forte, treble, rest, flat and sharp!

Solved! Didn't even need to get the team in it. Phew!

Narrator:

Correct!

Sherlock:

Good spotting Watson!

But what does it mean???
